BLOOD BOUGHT COVENANT

John, the revelator, said inspired by the Holy Ghost, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." John was speaking to the body of Christ, and if you are Christ's then are you Abraham's seed, spiritually, and heirs according to the promises of Abraham. Abraham was a covenant man. He had a covenant with God almighty, and so do we. Abraham's covenant was sealed in the blood of animals, but ours is sealed in the blood of God's dear son, Jesus.

Jesus taught his disciples and followers that if they had seen him, they had seen the Father. Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.

I John 3:8 say, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." Jesus came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly. The thief comes to kill, steal and destroy. We have an enemy that desires to sift us like wheat, but Jesus came to destroy his works. And if we know the heart or Jesus, then we know the heart of the Father. Our heavenly Father only desires good things of us. He desires to set us tree from the works of the enemy: spirit, soul and body. Isaiah prophesied of Jesus' coming and his redemptive works of his blood shed on the cross. Isaiah 53:4 states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." The blood of Jesus, shed for you and me was the covenant seal of the promises of God to His children: no longer the blood of bulls and goats, but the blood of His son, shed for us. A promise sealed in the blood of God almighty. That's a great promise from a faithful God who can not lie. But we have a part to play in this.

Jesus' ministry was a three part ministry: teaching, preaching and healing. The Bible tells us in Matthew 9:35, "And Jesus went about all the cites and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people." Teaching and preaching preceded the healings, because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Where people did not believe or were offended at Jesus' sayings, Jesus could not heal them. The Bible does not say that Jesus would not heal them, it says He could not. Why? Because of their unbelief. As we are told in the sixth chapter of Mark's gospel, Jesus in his own home town could there do no mighty works, and He marveled at their nonbelief. Our beliefs or unbeliefs have everything to do with God working in our lives concerning our covenant promises.

Remember we have the same Covenant promise of Abraham, the father of us all, the father of faith. Abraham was justitled, given a right standing with God, because of his faith. We therefore are justified and given a right standing with God through faith. Standing right with God is walking in divine health. Standing right with God is prospering and being in health, "even as our soul prospers."
